Busy Month of May!

I have let the month of May get away from me. We have been so busy this month that I haven't had a chance to catch up on my blogging, so here it goes the whole month summed up.

SOFTBALL
Softball is almost over, Tori has had several more great games pitching and earned another game ball. I'm happy she has found a sport she really enjoys, she plays soccer, does track, tired dance, and likes playing basketball so she plans on trying out for that next year but she says softball is her favorite.

HANGING OUT WITH FRIENDS
We have been hanging out a lot with our friends Nick and Mindi and our girls love pestering Nick especially Taegan. Tori and Tylee love playing tag with him but most of the time they're not fast enough to get away after they tag him before he tags them right back. Tori says Nick and her are like best buds. Our girls think he comes over just to play with them half the time.
Mindi and I had went to the store and when we got back Taegan had stickers all over Nick's and Tim's faces.

I think Toni was bored this night because she was playing dress up with Morgan (Nick and Mindi's daughter) I don't think she enjoyed it as much as Toni did.

Tylee and Morgan was helping Tim build the base for my balloon column stands. I made the balloon columns for Toni's graduation.

ACTIVITY DAYS

This was an activity Mindi and I did with my Activity Day Girls from church. We made picture books for Mother's Day and the girls loved making these. I heard one of them say, "if we're doing these for Mother's Day I wonder what we are going to do for Father's Day?" I guess that means I better get to planning.

MOTHERS DAY
I had a good Mother's Day, I always love getting the homemade gifts from the kids, they get so excited to give them to me that very rarely do I get to open them on Mother' Day. I usually have to open them as soon as they bring them home from school. We went to my moms and got to spend the day with her and I know it means so much to her so that was
special for me to get to do that.
This was an email I got for Mother's Day and I thought it was cute so I wanted to share it.

TRACK MEETS
The track meets are always fun to go to even though they turn into a long day that you usually end up getting sunburned at. Its all for the kids, they love having us there supporting them in their events.
Toni and Tori both did very well in their events, here are some of the pictures.

Toni took first in the long jump.

Toni took first in the 200

Toni's team took first in the tug-a-war.

This is Tori running the mile, she had two braids in her hair when she started the race but by the time she finished there was only one braid left, she kept going and took first place though.

Tori with her first place ribbon and one braid.

Tori is the one with the black t-shirt on in the middle.

This race was the 3x330 and Tori and this girl were neck and neck at the finish line and then Tori pulled ahead for the win.

Who Knew?

Tori and Tylee are playing softball right now and they really like it. Tori especially, she said this is her favorite sport, she mostly plays 1st base but has really wanted to try pitching. I think I scared her in the beginning of the season because I told her there is a lot of pressure on the pitcher so she didn't tell her coach until recently that she wanted to try it. Dany had taken all the girls down town and was practicing with them and she showed Tori how to pitch and she really liked it. She said Tori did really well and that she has some natural ability even though she wasn't very fast she was pretty accurate. I don't know anything about pitching, so I couldn't tell if she was doing it right or not. But she has been telling her coach lately that she wants to try to pitch and that she has been practicing at home, even though her coach was nice about it I'm sure didn't think twice about putting her in. Well her last game for what ever reason the coach put her in the last two innings to pitch and I guess she did really good. Neither Tim or I got to go to that game but we heard how well she did, she only walked one batter and ended up getting the game ball which their coach doesn't usually hand out. She was on cloud nine when she got home and was so excited when she was telling me all about it even though I had already heard it from a little birdie (we won't mention any names). We just happen to be playing Jimi and Harleigh's team so thanks to Dany taking pictures I have pictures to post.
The next couple of pictures are of Tylee, I'm lucky I got a picture of her batting usually she jumps out of the box before the ball even gets to her.

Playing monkey

Tim plays this game with the girls they call monkey, I'm not quite sure why its called that except for he kind of sounds and looks like a mad gorilla while he's running around chasing them. I got some great shots of them playing, I'm sure Tim will get the award in our family for the funnest parent. Tylee's friend Tayah had spent the night and I'm sure she thinks Tim is crazy, I think she might be a little afraid of him now.

That's Tayah hiding behind Tylee in the background.

Even our dog Roxy likes to play, only I think she's protecting the girls from the monkey.

How high can you jump?

Tim and Toni were seeing who could jump the highest off the ground so I decided to take pictures to see if I could get some shots of them in the air. They actually turned out neat, it doesn't take much to amuse my family. The rules were you can't have a running start or a step and jump, you have to stand with both feet on the ground and all you can do is bend at the knees and jump. I think Tim had her beat just by a few inches though. Our ceilings are 10 feet high and Toni can almost touch the light.I have to explain the pillows hanging from our ceiling, there is a hole there for our swamp cooler and when its cold out side you can feel a cold breeze coming from there so Tim stuffs pillows in it. I'm sure there's a proper way to fix it but pillows work just the same. Tylee wanted to get in the action so I took a picture of her but it looks funny because you can see Toni's legs behind her.

Happy Easter!

I decided this year we would make the girls Easter baskets instead of buying them or using their old ones which I couldn't find anyway. So I got this great idea online to do these paper mache balloons and paint them like Easter eggs, then you cut out a hole in the front and put in the fake grass and then put all their goodies inside. Sounded fun and easy enough, so we did it and I will never do it again. It was too messy, too time consuming, and it was meant to be fun for them and fun they didn't have. They didn't turn out good because we should have started them days in advance and let each layer completely dry in between. We ran out of time with all the things we have going on in our busy schedule and started them Saturday so they weren't dry enough or thick enough so they kind of crumbled when we popped the balloons inside.

Here are a few pictures of the process, some of them look like they are having fun but this was in the beginning after about 5-10 minuted they didn't want to do it anymore.
This is what they looked like before we popped the balloons.

Coloring Easter eggs

I think Tim was having more fun than the girls.
I had to put this picture on here because Tylee decided to make this egg and she said she put a tie on him because she wanted it to be a boy eggs, well if you look closely at the egg it defiantly looks like a boy. We were trying not to laugh when she showed us and said this is a boy egg then she told us it was a tie, we were relieved it wasn't something else. Because we didn't get to use these homemade egg baskets we didn't have baskets for them so I decided to make it fun and we put some of their candy and goodies inside of a balloon. It wasn't easy, Tim and I were in our bedroom with the door closed trying to stuff things inside of these balloons while the younger girls were wondering why the Easter rabbit didn't leave them a Easter basket when they got up that morning. I told them that the Easter bunny left them stuff but they didn't have an Easter basket for him to put it in so I put everything in my bedroom until we could put it together for them and they were okay with that. I think Taegan is the only one that still thinks the Easter Bunny brings their baskets, Tylee wasn't sure if she believed me or not. Anyway, we were in our bedroom with our door closed and we could hear the girls talking and telling Taegan to go in there to see if we were really doing their Easter baskets. They know that when our door is closed they need to knock which the did several times and we kept sending them away, saying they weren't going to get anything if they didn't leave us alone. So Taegan came walking in and of course we wanted it to be a surprise so we yelled at her to go out and told her she won't get anything if she comes in again. When she went out to report to the big girls she said we weren't doing anything in there but kissing. It was so funny because we weren't even sitting close to each other on our bed, she just made it up and all the girls mad. We really were doing Easter baskets, and that's it! These next few pictures are of them popping their balloons
